A community-led effort to care for Lough Ennell and its land.

Bringing people together to protect the lake, support nature, and build a stronger future. One rooted in trust, action, and local connection.

Who we are

Lake & Land is a new community-led project dedicated to protecting the natural life and long-term health of Lough Ennell and the land that surrounds it.

We’re a group of locals, landowners, nature lovers, farmers, and families who believe that this place matters, not just as a resource, but as something to care for and pass on.

This isn’t just about meetings and reports. It’s about people — coming together to listen, to learn, and to act. It’s about restoring trust, building momentum, and finding a better way forward.

Whether you live nearby, work the land, walk the shores, or simply love the lake — you’re invited to be part of it. We’re at the beginning, and your voice matters.

What We’re Building

Lake & Land is about protecting the water, soil, and wildlife of the Lough Ennell catchment, together.

We’re bringing people together across farming, forestry, households, and local life to build a shared understanding of how the land works, how it’s changing, and how we can look after it.

Our goal is to have a local Catchment Plan that works for the community and the environment. One that’s based on real stories, shared responsibility, and a deep respect for the place we call home.

This is about more than policy. It’s about care. And it starts with people.
